Project Rwanda 50 mile ride
Riders participate for a lot of reasons: some for the challenge of riding further on a mountain bike than ever before, some because they love the Project Rwanda cause, some for the fun of sharing the day with tons of their mtb buddies. But in the end this is a fund raiser which is used to further the economic development of Rwanda through initiatives based on the bicycle as a tool and symbol of hope.Join the ride-

Second Harvest Food Bank
Rock N Road partnered up with Second Harvest in 2006 because of a very energetic staff member and RnR Diva, Crystal Brown. Crystal quickly came up with the concept of having a food drive in all the stores and then a group ride in the middle of December, in order to promote the cause. The event was a success; 100 pounds of food collected and 40 riders participated in the ride.Three years ago Crystal passed the reins to Danni Thompson who now coordinates the well known, 'Hunger Ride' that occurs on the 3rd Saturday of December. In 2009 Rock N Road's efforts coordinated over 400 riders and collected 1000 pounds of food. The success of this event couldn't happen if it was not for the dedicated Orange County cyclists giving just a few cans of food to people who are in need.

Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation
The founder of Rock N Road Cyclery established a connection with the Susan G. Komen foundation many years ago. Matt Ford's mother and grandmother were lost to their battle with breast cancer, leaving in Matt's mind to desire to help and use his company as an advocate to promote this cause. His hopes are that a cure will someday be found and others will not have to grieve for family that are lost to this disease.
